MILWAUKEE (May 19, 2010) - The Milwaukee Wave have named Cory Howerton as director of sales and Chellee Siewert as vice president of marketing.
Howerton will oversee all the sales efforts for tickets, corporate partnerships and summer camps. He was previously vice president and chief marketing officer for the Quad Cities River Bandits, a Class A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. In Quad Cities, he directed a 56-percent increase in attendance in a year following an ownership change. Howerton developed all the River Bandits' marketing campaigns, and the team renewed 97 percent of its sponsors. A native of Seattle and former director of group sales for the Seattle Supersonics of the NBA, Howerton and his wife Melinda have four children.
Siewert was the executive director and chief operating officer at the Metropolitan Builders Association before coming to the Wave. During her tenure at the MBA, it grew into the 14th-largest home builders association in the country. In her role she increased the marketing and public relations for the association by launching a consumer magazine, Abode, the MBA's radio show, Today's Home, and the MBA's searchable website. She also is the marketing director for Lindy Enterprises and NX Level, and is the director of the Wave of Hope, the Wave's charitable organization. Siewert enjoys spending time with her husband Brett and her children Cole and Cade. She is also a member of the MMAC, Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce and is active with the Hebron House Foundation and Stillwaters, Inc.
