WAVE'S LINDENBERG, TOZER AND SAYLES RECEIVE AWARDS

The Milwaukee Wave’s Jim Lindenberg, Keith Tozer and Larry Sayles all received awards this past weekend. Lindenberg received the 200th Distinguished Alumni Award from UW-Whitewater while Tozer and Sayles were honored by the Wisconsin Soccer Association. Tozer was inducted in the WSA Hall of Fame and Sayles received the Meritorious Service Award. 

Lindenberg received the Distinguished Alumni Award from UW-Whitewater which is presented to a graduate of UW-Whitewater who has exhibited distinguished professional personal and career achievement and is recognized for accomplishments in their field. 

Tozer was inducted into the Wisconsin Soccer Association’s Hall of Fame for his unprecedented success as the Coach. Tozer surpassed the 700 all-time wins this past season. He is by far the most successful soccer coach in North American indoor soccer history. He has received eight “Coach of the Year” awards, won six league titles and recorded 24 winning seasons. 

Sayles received the Meritorious Service Award is given by the Wisconsin Soccer Association’s Hall of Fame Committee to an individual who has contributed to the promotion and development of Wisconsin Soccer Association programs over a long period of time.

The Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team is the longest-running professional soccer team in the country. The Wave completed their 28th season by winning their sixth Major Indoor Soccer League championship. Their summer camp program is the largest team-operated program in the country. MISL
USL acquired the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) in May, 2011 and began operating North America’s most storied and tradition-rich professional indoor soccer league for the 2011-12 season. The MISL represents the top level of professional indoor soccer in North America and currently consists of seven franchises. The league roster includes franchises in Baltimore, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Norfolk, Rochester, Syracuse and Wichita.
